March-09 2008 - FPS President Spotlighted in Local NewspaperFor Pets' Sake President Laurie Beckman was spotlighted in the Our Town section of the NWA Morning News. We are so proud of Laurie and her accomplishments with all of the organizations she volunteers with! See the article in its entirety here. February-10 2008 - Microchipping Clinic Scheduled for AprilMillions of companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year. Of these, only two percent of cats and 15-20% of dogs are reunited with their owners. The best way to avoid this is to ensure your pets have a means to identify them at all times. A collar with tags is a good start, but the best way to ensure your pet's ID doesn't get lost is to microchip your pet. For Pets' Sake will hold our first microchipping clinic at the Fayetteville Farmer's Market on April 26th, 2008 from 9 AM to 12 PM. Microchipping will cost $20 per pet, which is about 1/2 to 1/3 of the regular cost of microchipping service. This includes registration with Home Again microchipping service. The micro chip clinic will be in conjunction with National Pet ID week which is April 17 - April 23. February-10 2008 - FPS Receives $5000 DonationWe have some VERY EXCITING news!! A local charitable foundation has given FPS a donation of $5,000 in honor of FPS co-founder Leslie Ray for her vision, hard work, and professionalism as a co-founder of FPS. Leslie was the engine behind the very beginning of FPS. This donation is the largest contribution from one source that FPS has ever received; fitting it is to honor the single most compelling contribution of one individual. Sincere thanks to Leslie and the local charitable foundation. We have set a date for the next For Pets' Sake Art Show and contest. It will be held at Arts Center of the Ozarks in May of 2009. We plan to partner again with Artists of Northwest Arkansas, Ozark Pastel Society, local high school art departments, as well as open the show and contest to the public. Stay tuned for more information! November-15 2007 - Coming Soon: T-Shirts!For Pets' Sake intends to utilize some of the art submitted for the 2007 Art Show and Contest to develop pet-related t-shirts. We plan to sell the shirts right here on our website. All proceeds will go towards our programs. |
